Blow and chase bubbles outdoors or indoors to develop breath control, gross motor skills, visual tracking, and experience cause-and-effect in a magical way.
How to do it
- Choose an appropriate space: outdoors is ideal but bathroom or kitchen works for small-scale indoor bubbles.
- Show child how to dip wand and blow gently to create bubbles.
- For younger children, you blow bubbles while they chase and pop them.
- Encourage gentle blowing: demonstrate the difference between blowing hard (no bubbles) and soft (big bubbles).
- Experiment with different wand sizes and shapes to make various bubble types.
What you need
- Bubble solution (store-bought or homemade)
- Bubble wands of various sizes
- Outdoor space or well-ventilated indoor area
Make it yours
Make giant bubbles with wire coat hangers bent into circles. Try catching bubbles on wands without popping. Blow bubbles in the bath. Add food coloring to homemade solution. Try bubble machines for continuous bubbles.
