A word game where players say a tricky tongue twister and then repeat it faster and faster, laughing at the tangles. Plays with tricky sounds and saying them clearly.

How to do it

  1. Pick a short tongue twister everyone can hear and repeat.
  2. Say it together slowly a couple of times so everyone knows the words.
  3. Take turns saying it on your own, a little faster each time.
  4. See how many times a player can say it quickly without tripping over the words.
  5. Swap to a new tongue twister when the first one is mastered or gets too giggly.

Make it yours

Younger, 5 years: Use very short two or three word twisters and say them slowly for fun, without racing. Older, 7-8 years: Use longer twisters, count clean repeats in a row, or make up your own. Group: Go around the circle; each person adds one clean repeat before it passes on.
