Save a useful activity for another day

Some games are worth keeping for another afternoon. Save an idea in TopParent and come back to it when you and your child have time.

Sometimes you find a game you’d love to try just as your child is happily busy with something else. Perhaps the floor is covered in blocks, or they’ve settled into a story and have no wish to leave it. You like the idea, but it can wait.

Keeping it for later means you can carry on with the afternoon you’re already having. In TopParent’s Activity Library, you can save an activity and come back when you feel like trying something together.

A game you can picture yourselves playing

Imagine a moment at home with your 3 to 6 year old. One of you has spotted something in the room, and the other is trying to guess what it is. A clue about its shape or what it’s used for gives you somewhere to begin, even if your child isn’t reading yet.

That’s the idea behind I Spy. There are no materials to gather, and the things around you give you something to play with. You might enjoy taking turns to make up clues, or find that a few guesses are enough for now.

If it sounds like a game you’d enjoy another day, a tap on the bookmark beside its title keeps it in your saved activities. The bookmark fills in and a message confirms the save. You can put the idea aside and return to the blocks, the story or whatever else is happening around you.

Saving it doesn’t mark it as done. It can stay an idea for another afternoon.

When you feel like a game together

Another day, there might be a pause when neither of you is quite sure what to do next. While you’re signed in, Saved activities in the Activity Library gives you a place to find I Spy again and open its details.

Its estimated 5 to 15 minutes may suit the time you have, or you might only fancy a couple of turns. How long you play can follow your child’s interest.

And if your child is still absorbed in something else, you can join them there instead. You don’t need to make room for a game simply because you saved it. The idea can wait until you both fancy it.
